Sunova donates $20K to the Pinawa Golf & Country Club

August 11, 2017

This week we met with the folks at the Pinawa Golf & Country Club to present them with the proceeds from the12th annual Sunova Golf Classic. The funds will help the community owned and operated course get a new roof.

The Pinawa Golf & Country Club was chosen as the recipient after winning a competition to find a partner organization for the event. After being named a finalist, the golf club and four other organizations shared short videos with the public for voting.

“We’re thrilled to be able to support such an important organization not only in the community of Pinawa, but in the region,” said Sunova Credit Union President and CEO Ed Bergen. “The club is not just about golf, it’s also an important gathering place for the community, a large local employer, and a huge source of tourism for the town. Once again we’ve been able to raise funds to make an impact in one of our communities and it’s a wonderful feeling to be able to make a difference.”

Over the past twelve years, we have raised approximately $225,000 for local charities through this tournament.

Huge thanks to all the event’s major sponsors: Collabria, Everlink, and CRI Canada.

The 13th annual Sunova Golf Classic will be held June 8, 2018 at the Pinawa Golf & Country Club. The funding competition for next year will open in February 2018.
