2019 Sunova scholarship winner
June 21, 2019
Selecting one winner of the Sunova Scholarship is no easy feat. We look for a student that embodies Sunova’s values and strives to make a difference in his or her community.
This year we received 23 applications from amazing students, who are all doing great things for their respective communities.
After a lot of reading and consideration, we are thrilled to award this year’s scholarship to Carter Kiel!
Carter is graduating high school this year and heading to the University of Manitoba for the Agriculture Diploma program. Carter hopes to take what he learns in university and apply it to working at his family’s farm.
Community is very important to Carter. From the hockey community where he’s been a player, assistant coach, and referee, to his church community, Carter believes it’s important to give back where he can.
“He is a very intelligent and hard-working student, both at school and on the family farm,” says Paul Magnan, Principal at Teulon Collegiate. “Carter is caring. He has demonstrated this by standing up for others who do not have a voice.”
We look forward to seeing how Carter continues to support his community. Congratulations!
