Holiday Alley

visit website

It’s hard not to get into the holiday spirit at Holiday Alley, with events like the Sunova Makers’ Market (our favourite!), Manitoba Hydro Soup Cook-Off, Make Art in the Alleyway, and the Art, Bark, & Spark Parade. It truly is a weekend to celebrate local artists and entertainers, kick off the holidays in town, and maybe pick up a few gifts.

visit website

The family mental wellness festival is one of Inspire Community Outreach’s annual events. It’s a day to celebrates our strengths, as well as to raise awareness and lower stigma around mental illness and differences. All are welcome to come and enjoy the day of free activities and performances in Assiniboine Park.

We had a blast at the Sunova Credit Union and Brio Insurance rock painting station and just loved seeing what everyone came up with. From ladybug rocks to St. Bernard’s, it was inspiring to what everyone created.

Suit Up Winnipeg collects gently used men’s formal wear to give to Grade 12 students who cannot afford to purchase an outfit for their graduation festivities (and to keep for life!). The group started in 2015 in one school division and has since expanded to offer suits to students all across Manitoba.

Sunova provided a donation toward helping secure a permanent space for Suit Up and acted as a drop off location for suits in the spring. Staff also volunteered to help set up the 2019 shop and at a suit drive.

Oakbank Soccer Program

2015 - 2019
visit website

Oakbank Soccer runs the recreational soccer program for over 400 children from Oakbank and surrounding communities. Children learn the fundamentals of the game and the importance of being active.

Sunova has supported the mini soccer program for several years now by providing jerseys for all the kids in the 3-6 age group. We love being able to help promote wellness at such a young age, and keep the program affordable for parents through our support of the jerseys.

The I Am Festival is a weekend festival that delivers a multitude of personal development, art, and music workshops. The festival provides space for people to dig deeper into workshops to promote mental, body, and spiritual wellbeing. It is 100% volunteer-run and takes place just outside of Teulon.

Sunova, along with Brio Insurance, supported the I Am Festival in 2019 as the transportation sponsor. Throughout the weekend you could spot a Sunova and Brio Insurance golf cart zipping around the grounds.

Centennial PAC Fun Run

2018 - 2019
visit website

The Centennial PAC has encouraged wellness for both the students and community with the fun run over the last two years. The run was not only a chance for everyone to come out and have fun going to the colour stations (2018) and obstacle courses (2019), but also a way to raise money for the school’s nature playground.

Our D.O.G Bill and our staff from Lac du Bonnet had a blast at this event. It was such a fun way to support continual wellness in the community.
