Congratulations to Hélène Trudeau, winner of the 2021 Sunova Scholarship!
June 15, 2021
We are thrilled to announce that Hélène Trudeau, member of our Beausejour branch, has won the 2021 Sunova Scholarship. The prize? A whopping $7500 to be used towards Hélène’s post-secondary education.
It’s never easy choosing the winner for the Sunova Scholarship, and this year was no exception with so many deserving candidates in the running. It was Helene’s long list of community volunteer experiences that stood out to the committee, including the Beausejour Food Bank, Girl Guides of Canada, Women in Aviation International, and Northern Spirit Chapter of Women in Aviation International.
We were equally impressed with Hélène’s essay as well as her drive and determination to study and work in the aviation industry, a traditionally male-dominated industry. Her intense ambition and burning passion are truly inspiring and we wish Hélène all the best as she enters the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer program at Red River College this fall.
But don’t just take our word for it. Here is what Krystin Schroeder from Girl Guides Canada has to say about Hélène.
“Hélène is very motivated and driven. She excels at school in the French Immersion program. She is working a part time job to help pay for post-secondary education. She is involved in athletics programs as well as Girl Guides. She volunteers in the community, helping out at the local food bank, soup kitchen, community clean ups, and more.”
Hélène thank you for all you do for the community. We wish you all the best with your upcoming studies and can’t wait to see how you continue to do good, be better, own it, move forward, and create fun through your education and beyond.
Your future is flight! (Uhhh… we mean bright!)
