Sunova donates $5000 to HSC Foundation COVID-19 Relief fund
December 21, 2020
Our healthcare workers have worked so hard to support all of us this year. We wish we could give them all a big hug, but that’s not COVID friendly. So instead to show our support, on behalf of everyone at Sunova and Brio Insurance, we have donated $5,000 to the HSC Foundation COVID-19 Relief fund. This fund is used to support COVID relief efforts at the Health Sciences Centre. BONUS: thanks to an anonymous donor, our donation has been matched, which means $10,000 is going to support our healthcare workers.
About the COVID-19 Relief fund
We chose this fund because HSC is Manitoba’s largest hospital, it provides healthcare to people in all of our communities and shares expertise with healthcare centres across the province. The COVID-19 relief fund is a way to support both healthcare workers and patients at HSC.
The COVID-19 Relief fund was started back in March, during the first wave of the virus in Manitoba. HSC Foundation has used the fund to help feed frontline workers, pay for TV services for all patients, purchase iPads for patients so they can stay connected to loved ones, purchase important specialized oxygen equipment to support patients with COVID, and more.
Our donation will help the foundation continue to support the hospital staff and patients in everyday ways.
