Our Dugald branch is turning into a boutique location

On August 31, our Dugald branch will become Sunova’s first-ever boutique location. It sounds like a big change, but our goal is to simply shift what we do to better help our members on their overall financial journey.

Sunova Credit Union Dugald branch

With this location, we’re moving away from doing basic, day-to-day transactions for our members and instead focusing on how we can help with life’s larger financial matters. Transactions such as cash deposits, bill payments, transfers, or checking an account balance are all things we can do on our own, thanks to technology like ATMs and online banking. We know not everyone is going to be comfortable with it at first, which is why our staff will be there to help members through the changes. Over time, we see this move to a boutique branch as a way for us to focus more on the ‘bigger picture’ for our members, and ultimately help them to achieve their financial goals.


Features of our boutique location include:


  • Financial consults with an associate
  • Two self-serve computer stations and an iPad
  • A cell phone charging station
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • A beverage / refreshment station
  • ATM withdrawals + deposits
  • 24-hour night deposit drop

As of August 31, cash services will be limited to the drive-thru ATM and the night deposit drop. Members can deposit and withdraw cash through the ATM at any time.


During business hours, inside the branch, all transactions will be digital. Members can use self-serve banking stations for day-to-day transactions (like transfers between accounts, bill payments, checking statements, etc.). There will always be a staff member or two at the branch to help answer questions or show members how to use our online banking platform.


Our staff will also be there to help members with financial matters such as:


  • Mortgages
  • Opening a membership
  • Loans and lines of credit
  • Getting a credit card
  • Setting up terms
  • Specialized transactions
  • Requesting cheques
  • And more!


Branch hours + employees


The branch will be open Monday to Friday, 9:30 am – 5:30 pm. To start, staffing at the branch won’t change, but over time, a few of the employees may transfer to our Oakbank branch.


COVID-19 considerations


To help keep our members safe and healthy, our staff will be wiping down the self-serve banking stations between uses. As well, our beverage / refreshment station will not be open until after the threat of the virus is greatly reduced.
