2023 Valeyo Learning Grant Program

Are you currently in post-secondary education or heading to school this fall? Apply for a $1,200 Learning Grant today!​

Access Credit Union members can apply for one of the ten $1,200 Learning Grants offered by credit union partner, Valeyo. Open until April 17, 2022, members must reside in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, or Ontario and must be entering or within a 12-month to 4-year undergraduate or diploma program at a qualified Canadian institution in Fall 2022.

What is the Learning Grant ?


The Learning Grant is a program which provides up to 10 grants in the
amount of $1,200 each to eligible students for full-time study at a
qualifying(1) Canadian college or university in 2023.

How long does the program run?


The program opens on March 27, 2023 and closes on Sunday May 7, 2023.
Applications must be submitted no later than 11:59 pm PT.

Who can apply?


Any student who is a member of a credit union and is entering or within a
12-month to 4-year full-time undergraduate or diploma program.

How do I apply?


Students can apply online at valeyo.com/learning_grant/

Selection process


A Selection Committee will review all applications and determine
successful candidates. Learning Grants will be awarded based on
the applicant’s academic achievements, leadership and community
involvement.

All candidates will be informed of their status following
selection. Winners will be asked to provide final high school
transcripts and confirmation of enrollment in a post-secondary
program.

Application materials will not be returned to the applicants.
Recipients of the Learning Grants must agree to have their name

Submission requirements include:


  1. An official transcript of mid-year high school results or transcript of first year post-secondary results.

  2. An essay of 500 words or less OR a video of two minutes or less describing their academic achievement, leadership and community involvement.

  3. One letter of reference from school principal, teacher, professor/instructor or community member.

Eligibility


  • The Learning Grant Program is open to any credit union
    member in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba
    and Ontario.

  • Applicants must be enrolling/enrolled in a full-time undergrad
    or diploma program at a qualified Canadian institution in Fall
    2023.

  • Applicants must submit all the requested documents by the
    given timelines in order to be considered for a Learning Grant.

  • Available to eligible credit union members including children
    and dependents of employees and board members of
    participating credit unions.


I applied to the Program in the past and was unsuccessful. Can I apply again?


Yes. Students who were unsuccessful the previous years may
apply again as long as they continue to meet the eligibility
requirements.
