Paws for a Cause Walk – September 20
September 14, 2020
This Sunday, September 20, Bill and some of the Sunova team are heading out to the Paws for a Cause Cancer walk, in support of Never Alone Cancer Foundation.
Never Alone Cancer Foundation provides support for Manitobans with cancer in everyday ways. They want to do things that make a difference and remind patients that they are not alone while they are sick.
In August, a NACF friend, Kailyn, had to come to Winnipeg for an appointment. She lives 7.5 hours away by car, or 2 hours by plane, which is a long trip in. And unfortunately, the trip turned out to be even more difficult, because she found out that the treatments for her brain tumour aren’t working. NACF knew Kailyn and her mom were in the city alone and decided to stop by with a little cheer and a promise to take her for ice cream in a Mustang the next time she is in the city. During this visit, NACF found out that Kailyn LOVES getting mail and so, the volunteer group has been busy writing cards and making little packages that will be sent over the coming weeks.
Sometimes it’s hard to know how to support someone who’s going through such a hard thing like cancer, but the NACF finds these little, yet heartwarming, ways to show patients they are loved, supported, and not alone.
Patients like Kailyn are why Sunova is supporting the Never Alone Cancer Foundation and participating in the walk on Sunday.
While the walk will be a little smaller this year than in the past, you can still show your support through a donation.
