Students bank for free at Sunova (yes, you read that right). As a post-secondary student, you have enough to worry about. Between tuition, student loans, car payments, books, and school supplies, the last thing you should be concerned about each month is service charges from your financial institution.


With no monthly fee and 40 free (electronic only) transactions per month, we’re here to help make university or college a little bit easier on you.


Plus, if you need some advice, our friendly staff are here to answer any questions you may have (well, any banking questions). We know you’re busy but we want to help. Feel free to stop by your local branch so we can get you set up with our post-secondary student chequing account and go over any questions you might have about loans or lines of credit.



Effective July 1, 2022, Sunova Credit Union is Access Credit Union.


The new Access Credit Union promises to offer some of the best financial products and services for every stage in life. We’ve streamlined our account package options to best meet the needs of our combined membership. We are pleased to share the new account package lineup and service fee schedule which will come into effect in October 2022.

 To be eligible for our student account package, you just need to be enrolled in a post-secondary school and provide proof of enrollment each year.


Getting started is easy


If you’re already a member and want to switch to a student account, contact your local branch or get in touch online through Help HQ. You will need to show proof of enrollment each year to maintain the student account.



If you’re not a member yet, we’d be happy to welcome you. Stop by a branch near you (with your ID and proof of enrollment in school) and we’ll get you set up in no time. 

The fine print: All packages, rates, and fees are effective July 1, 2019 and are subject to change. Monthly free transactions include cheque and in-branch cash withdrawals, in-branch transfers, pre-authorized debits, point of sale purchases, ATM transactions (Manitoba credit union ATMs), Sunova GO and Sunova GO Web bill payments and transfers. In-branch free transactions for student account include cash withdrawals, transfers, cheque cashing, and bill payments.
