Apple Pay® is a simple and safe way to pay with your Apple device. You’re just a few short steps away from shopping with ease, wherever you may go. Whether at the grocery store or the mall, Apple Pay just became your new best friend.
Adding your card to Apple Pay
Adding your Sunova debit card or Sunova Mastercard® to Apple Pay is easy.
iPhone
- Open the Wallet app.
- Tap the + symbol in the upper right corner
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add your Sunova debit card or Mastercard®.
Apple Watch
- Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
- Go to the My Watch tab. If you have multiple watches, choose one.
- Tap Wallet & Apple Pay and select Add Credit or Debit Card.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add your Sunova Credit Union debit card or Mastercard®.
As a security measure, you will need to complete a verification to activate the card. This verification can be done by one of three methods. (Sunova debit cards only).
- A one-time passcode is sent via email,
- A one-time passcode is sent via text (SMS), or
- You can choose to call Help HQ to activate the card in your mobile wallet.
How to pay
Ready to shop (and tap) till you drop? Here’s how to pay with Apple Pay.
iPhone – Face ID
To pay with Face ID, double click the side button, then glace at your iPhone to authenticate with Face ID (or enter your passcode). Hold the top of the iPhone within a few centimetres of the contactless reader until you see ‘done’ and a checkmark on the display.
iPhone – Touch ID
To pay with Touch ID, rest your finger or thumb on the home button and hold the top of your iPhone within a few centimetres of the contactless reader. You will see ‘done’ and a checkmark on the display letting you know your payment was approved. If vibration and sounds are enabled, you will feel a subtle vibration and hear a beep.
Apple Watch
To pay with Apple Watch, double click the side button and hold the display of your Apple Watch within a few centimetres of the contactless reader. Wait until you feel a gentle tap. You will see a ‘done’ and a checkmark on the display letting you know your payment was approved.
Where to use Apple Pay
Apple Pay using your debit card or Mastercard works wherever Interac® Flash is accepted. Just look for the Interac® Flash logo or contactless symbol at the checkout. Some stores will also display the Apple Pay logo.
You can also pay using your debit card or Mastercard in any mobile app, or on the web, where Apple Pay is accepted. Just look for these symbols.
