Wire Transfers

A wire transfer is an electronic transfer where money is sent from one financial institution to another. It’s the preferred method of sending money to someone in a foreign country, plus, you can send wires in almost any currency and receive them in either Canadian or US dollars.

For an up to date listing of wire transfer fees, check out our banking fees page.

Sending a wire transfer

We’d like to tell you that all it takes to send a wire transfer is a quick snap of your fingers and a blink of an eye, but alas, we would be lying.

However, as long as you have all the required information, Sunova staff can help make the wire transfer process a breeze. But remember, wire transfers only work if the information is correct. That may sound obvious but tiny spelling errors or incorrect banking information will cause an error in the transfer. We don’t want that to happen, so take care when collecting information.

Please note a wire transfer can take anywhere from 24 hours to 10 days to reach its final landing place.
