On your next visit to Sunova, you may be greeted with a big slobbery kiss — it’s how the Sunova Director of Greetings (D.O.Gs for short) like to say hello. Did we mention they are adorable (and oh so fluffy) St. Bernards?
Greeting members since 2007, the D.O.Gs have a very important job here at Sunova including napping, playing with junior members, napping, showing off their latest tricks, and, of course, providing big slobbery kisses when necessary.

Meet Bill
Bill is a true Canadian D.O.G, through and through. In fact, he was born on Canada Day. Bill loves being a D.O.G at Sunova because he is always meeting new people and exploring Manitoba communities. Here are a few fun facts about Bill:
- He thinks he is a lap dog. If you sit on the ground beside him he will try to sit in your lap.
- He loves learning new tricks.
- He has relatives in the Beethoven movies.
Meet Lily
Lily has been part of the Sunova team since January 2017. She loves snuggles, running in the snow, and belly scratches.
Making new friends is Lily’s favourite part of her job, other than sneaking treats from her D.O.G ambassador.
The D.O.G Life
Slobbery kisses, afternoon naps, and a personal groomer? Hey, being a Sunova D.O.G is pretty great. Not to mention all the adoring fans.
In all seriousness, being a Sunova D.O.G is a pretty great gig. Bill and Lily live with the Sunova D.O.G ambassador, Sheltie siblings, and a huge backyard.
They start the day with breakfast at home, a quick grooming session, and a run around the yard. Then Bill gets ready to head out for the day – don’t forget the snacks and drool rag!
Bill goes on about five visits a week and is only out for two to four hours a day, so he has lots of time to be a regular dog at home. You may find Bill at a branch, community event, or out doing random acts of kindness (again follow us on social media @sunovacu to see his weekly schedule).
Lily is taking a break from branch visits due to her health. For now, she spends her days napping at home and relaxing — a St. Bernards’ dream.
Along with taking the D.O.Gs to visits, the D.O.G ambassador takes care of all the dogs’ vets visits, training, grooming, and everyday care.
